Policy for Client Consent for all Services : MA#58272 MM#43158 1. Client Assessment and Informed Consent Initial Consultation: Every client must undergo an initial consultation to assess their health status, including any medical conditions, medications, or recent surgeries. This is done in the first few mins 2-5mins. Informed Consent Form: Clients must check off below to this form acknowledging that they understand the nature of deep tissue massage and its potential risks. 2. Contraindications Absolute Contraindications: Deep tissue massage should not be performed on clients with certain conditions, including but not limited to: Severe osteoporosis Blood clotting disorders or taking blood thinners Active infections or open wounds Recent surgeries (within 6 weeks) Cancer (unless approved by a physician) Relative Contraindications: Caution should be used with clients who have conditions such as: Diabetes Autoimmune disorders Cardiovascular conditions (e.g., hypertension) Pregnancy (consult with a physician) 3. Possible Side Effects Immediate Effects: Clients may experience soreness, bruising, or discomfort during and immediately after the massage. Delayed Effects: Soreness, stiffness, or mild bruising may occur up to 48 hours post-massage. Clients are advised to drink plenty of water & ICE. 4. Communication During Massage Client Feedback: Clients must provide feedback during the session. If a you aexperience pain beyond a comfortable threshold, notify the therapist immediately to adjust the pressure accordingly. Therapist Vigilance: Therapists must monitor clients' responses and look for signs of discomfort or adverse reactions. 5. Aftercare Instructions Post-Massage Care: Clients should be given aftercare instructions, which may include: Hydrating well to flush out toxins Avoiding strenuous activities for 24-48 hours Applying ice to any areas of discomfort Gentle stretching to ease muscle soreness 6. Emergency Protocols Immediate Action: If a client exhibits signs of severe pain, dizziness, or any unusual symptoms during or after the massage, the therapist should stop the session immediately and provide appropriate care. Medical Assistance: In case of any severe reactions, the therapist is NOT responsible for any reactions that may happen after the massage session. 7. Breathwork may involve some emotional feelings & trauma that may present itself. Seek Medical Attention.
